Gradient Yarn: Mixed Medium
Colors shown: Edelweiss gradient and Silverlight
This Monday we're talking about the pattern we just finished our KAL for, the final pattern of 2015, Mixed Medium. We finally have the pattern available on it's own as a PDF download and we still have some of our KAL bundle available with preselected colors and the pattern. You can check out some of the finished projects here on Ravelry. You can also see more of what our fabulous designer, Marcy Vandale, is up to over at her website, Stepping Stone Creations.

Mixed Medium is the kind of cowl that you start with a provisional cast on, work flat, then fold over and pick up the cast on, and finally finish by kitchenering or grafting shut. The design was created to use one Pebble Sock Gradient pack, and one 100g skein of Pebble Sock. There are two size options listed in the pattern, which is great because your finished cowl is already double thickness because of its construction. The smaller size, with a 30" circumference, is perfectly wearable and cozy. The longer size is 50" and great for doubling up, or wearing long.

Now that knitters aren't limited to the choices we were able to offer for the KAL, we're looking forward to seeing what other lovely color combos people come up with. We don't recommend you use a multi-colored skein for the background color, as it may tend to mute the ombre effect of the gradient yarn, unless you use a really high contrast like Thundercloud or Black Trillium and Smoke.
That pretty much wraps up today's Monday Gradient Yarn Ideas post. We hope you are enjoying our little blog series, and we always welcome your requests!
