November 2 Ply Club

The November shipment of the 2 Ply Club went out. I'm all about fall, can you tell? This fiber - the mixed black & ecru Blue Faced Leicester - is absolutely hands-down my favorite to spin and to dye. You get so much depth of color and visual interest from that little bit of dark brown BFL combed in with the natural, and of course I'm very partial to BFL in the first place. I tried to capture some of the different leaves in the multi-hued 4 ounces, so there's a red, some green flashes, and lots of gold and pumpkin. I've been thinking about this color combo for about a month, and I knew I wanted a blueish red for the main 4 ounces. I couldn't be more pleased with the way the red too but didn't overshadow the fiber's natural variation. Here they are individually: Now I have to start dreaming up the December club. Winter all the way, but probably not holiday themed. If you're interested in getting in on the action, send me an email at blacktrillium [at] popculturezoo [dot] com and I can do a special listing for you for the final two months of the current club. We still have Corriedale in December and Merino & Silk in January, and all the color possibilities in the world.
