Gradient Yarn: Jessamine

all Jessamine photos courtesy Jen Lucas
This week's gradient yarn idea comes from designer Jen Lucas.  In early 2015, she published Jessamine, a lovely lacy shawl that calls for a single Lilt Sock Gradient Yarn kit.  Jen's original in knit in a Mint Lilt Gradient, and I have to mention that I love the way the different lace sections stack up across the different shades.
This design is part of an increasing number of patterns that were published as part of a collection of gradient ideas, with each pattern focusing on a different dyer's gradient.  What I love about this trend is that you can see what a wide variety of gradient type yarns are available, and quite often each design is translatable (with some small alteration to the pattern).  Jen's collection, Gradient: A Shawl Collection, has such a great array of shawl patterns that I could fill up several months knitting time working them up in our yarns.  Another collection of this sort is The Chroma Collection by Ambah O'Brien, and I have it on good authority that Carol Feller has an assortment of her own coming out later this year.
Thank you so much for reading another post in our Monday Gradient Yarn Ideas series.  We hope you're enjoying our direction, and always feel free to drop us a line in the comments!  Have a great week.
